It’s summertime and we don’t know about you but we like to sneak a few pages in while we sip our morning coffee outside, then again in the afternoon by the pool. Oh, and a few more pages when the breeze is just right and we’re spending some much-needed R and R time in the hammock. And, of course, at night curled up on the porch swing enjoying the melodious sounds of summer near the garden. Needless to say, we are constantly on the search for titles to stuff our bookshelves with and summertime calls for the kind of books that you just don’t want to put down, easy reads that take you to the remains of a summer camp riddled with secrets or beautiful vineyards that once thrived many vintages ago. Today, we’re discussing just a few of our all-time favorite summer reads.
The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager

We need to start by saying that if you love a good psychological thriller you can never go wrong with Riley Sager’s reads. Anyway, The Last Time I Lied is the story of Emma Davis, who, just fifteen years later when to summer camp and recalls watching sleepily her three cabin mates disappearing into the night, one of which was never seen or heard from again. After an interesting turn of events, Emma is asked to return to camp as an art counselor and while she goes in hoping for closure, she instead uncovers cryptic clues, a twisted origin, and the realization that history really does repeat itself.
A Good Year by Peter Mayle

This is one of those easy reads that take you to a gorgeous chateau overlooking a vineyard in France, and isn’t that where we would all like to be? Sitting poolside under the shade of olive trees, sipping on a glass of wine made just moments from where you are. Oh, and the movie? Never as good as the book, but a great flick nonetheless, so make sure to check out the movie after you finish the book.
Verity by Colleen Hoover

If you’re on BookTok, Bookstagram, or in a book club on Facebook, then we have no doubt that Verity was plastered against your feed. We have no idea where to start, but this book will keep you guessing until the very end, and that’s all we’re willing to give away.
Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes

Have you ever wanted to run away to Tuscany and buy a countryside villa complete with an overgrown garden, intricate iron details, and just a few minutes away from vibrant markets and interesting people? Well, that’s pretty much what happened to Frances Mayes (and so much more) and you can travel to her countryside Tuscany villa by way of her memoir.
