Orchids

A very cool thing about orchids is there are a ton of different species and believe it or not, some are actually ugly, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we’re here to tell you that orchids take a little extra love and attention, but are so worth it and look absolutely beautiful in the home. A bonus to having orchids in your space is they’ve been known to promote a calming environment, and on our best day, we still appreciate anything that promotes ‘calm’.

Odds are someone in your life had one of these plants around when you were growing up, but other than nostalgia, there are a ton of reasons to have one in your own home. For one thing, these plants look gorgeous when they bloom. These plants respond best in cooler temperatures and shorter days, so basically the opposite of us.
Begonias

While most probably think of begonias as outdoor flowers, begonias can thrive indoors as well. Begonias aren’t expensive, they don’t demand much, and they can add a lot of color to a room. All in all, begonias are a great flowering houseplant to nab.

Okay, if you want a showstopper of a flowering houseplant, then look no further than a flowering maple. Not only is this plant in bloom practically all the time, but there are a number of ways you can grow it. You can keep it in a large pot and let it grow like a tree, you can keep it cut back and keep it more shrub-like, or you can keep it in a hanging basket.
Jasmine

Ah, another favorite. Jasmine is not only a beautiful flowering plant to look at, but the aroma is subtle and wonderful. Another bonus, jasmine is relatively easy to take care of, it just requires a lot of light and moisture. And, of course, love.
