Colored squares on toothpaste have a completely different meaning
If you pay enough attention, you can find a colored square at the bottom of your toothpaste. Social media posts and internet articles about the toothpaste color code claim that the colors of a toothpaste tube disclose what the ingredients in the toothpaste actually are. The compounds in your toothpaste have nothing to do with these markings. They actually mean something very different.
The truth is that there is no such thing as a toothpaste color-coding scheme. To avoid misleading consumers and concealing ingredients, oral care companies do not label their toothpaste with colored squares. However, these colors actually help in the production of toothpaste tubes by directing light sensors to the tube’s end, allowing it to be cut and sealed properly.
