Extra holes in sneakers can help you tie your shoes tighter
According to some recent YouTube videos that have gone viral, your sneakers’ mysterious extra shoelace holes actually serve a brilliant purpose. The trick is to use them to make a “lace lock.” With this technique, you can increase friction between the laces on your ankle, keeping the ankle and heel area snug. This concept is not new, yet it still keeps blowing people’s minds.
Apparently, the “heel lock” or “racer’s lock” method can help make shoes fit better, and therefore, prevent blisters. First, you should stick the shoelace through your extra shole to create a loop. Then, you cross the shoelaces through the opposite loops. Those extra holes can actually serve an important purpose. Just be careful not to overtighten your laces.
