Try leaving your shoes outside the door
It is a common policy in many households to require people to leave their shoes at the door when they come in. This keeps floors cleaner by making sure that anything they step on outside on the street will not make it to the house’s carpet or floorboards. After all, we have no idea what our feet may come in contact with on any given day.
However, it might be a better idea if they were never brought into the house at all. Mud, tar, grass, oil, all these substances are commonly found in the streets of any city or town. What is worse, some insect eggs can attach to the soles of your shoes, which means you would be bringing them inside for them to hatch on your floors.
