Innovative design at college
Ramps are an alternative for those whose mobility is reduced or for people with bicycles or other wheeled items. The goal is that people who are physically unable to use the stairs can wheel themselves up without nobody’s help. Ramps can make a massive difference for them, so they’d better be well designed.
If every space were thought and designed with accessibility in mind, no one would feel left out. Luckily, the University of Arizona cared about all its students and hired professionals to create a ramp in McClelland Hall, maintaining the building style and delicacy. This design incorporates the ramp into the staircase and makes access to the hall easier for anyone, especially those who struggle the most.
