Sometimes it seems that there isn’t a whole lot we can all agree on these days, but there always has to be common ground somewhere, right? The answer is yes, in cheese. You read that correctly, cheese can be our common ground. We can all agree that cheese is wonderful and necessary for our mental health. We’ve brought you here today to share our list of favorite cheese snacks you can make at home to warm up these otherwise cold, dreary days. And remember: always add a little more cheese than absolutely necessary. Let’s get started!
Mac and Cheese Balls
The name pretty much says it all, these delightfully cheesy snacks are just balls of gooey mac and cheese, fried to perfection. We do have some advice before you start on these; we highly recommend using your favorite mac and cheese for these no matter what that may be. If you are a Kraft mac and cheese lover all the way use that, if you prefer a slow-cooked smoked gouda mac and cheese, then, by all means, whip some up. We also recommend jazzing up your panko a little bit, if that’s your thing, by adding your favorite flavors such as garlic and parmesan, crushed Doritos, or even a dash of cayenne pepper if you prefer a little spice. Cheese Stuffed Pretzel Bombs
If you can’t pass up a soft pretzel served with a side of nacho cheese at any sporting event or mall, then these are for you! It’s a pretzel stuffed with nacho cheese, and we can’t think of anything better than a hot vessel of bread stuffed with melty cheese. These make for a great snack for the little humans after school, for game-day, and especially on a random Friday night, paired with your favorite wine, and a seriously good Netflix queue. Cheesy Everything Crackers
These crackers combine two of our favorite things: cheese and everything seasoning. Not only are these way easy to make, but they’re an excellent addition to a charcuterie board, and they pair nicely with any dip! (Though our favorite is a hot spinach artichoke dip!) The dough you’ll make to form these crunchy little bits of perfection is comparable to a biscuit dough so not only are these crackers crunchy and cheesy, but they’re also buttery and savory the same way a biscuit is so they practically melt in your mouth! Creamy Jalapeno Popper Dip
We’re big fans of jalapeno poppers, and this dip (paired with the everything crackers we just told you about) hits the spot every time. Again, this is a great dip for a crowd, on a charcuterie board, or for a Friday night in. The best part? This dip only takes about ten minutes to throw together! If the everything crackers aren’t your thing, lucky for you this dip is just as good with tortilla chips, pita chips, or a fresh out of the oven baguette. Get the recipe here!
