Use doilies to craft a vintage lamp
Doilies are decorative mats, typically made of fabric, used for binding flowers and protecting surfaces. They’re present in almost every grandmother’s house, used as a centerpiece for their kitchen table. Today, you’ll learn another use for this detailed fabric that will make your room look incredible. It’s not the quickest of tutorials, but you’ll definitely be pleased with the result.
To make your doily light, start by inflating a balloon in a spherical shape. After that, cover it with your doilies and paint the fabric with glue. It’s best to use wallpaper adhesive, but regular school glue will be fine as well. Let it dry for 24 hours and finish by blowing up the balloon. Don’t forget to leave a hole for the lamp to fit through.
