Who doesn’t love a fresh, warm doughnut that practically melts in your mouth? We know we certainly can get enough of them, and besides eating them solo for breakfast with a fresh cup of joe on a lazy Sunday morning, there are a lot of other fun ways to use doughnuts to make some pretty interesting dishes. Plus, it’s super easy to whip up doughnuts at home (and quite dangerous to have this ability if you’re anything like us!) giving you all of the freedom when it comes to the ingredients used and donut flavors. Today we’re sharing some of our favorite at-home donut recipes and how we get creative with ours!
Glazed Doughnuts
Despite all of the doughnut flavors out there, nothing will probably ever top a plain glazed doughnut for us. These doughnuts are melt in your mouth soft, and only require a handful of pantry staples to make. Now, there are a ton of things you can make with plain glazed doughnuts like a doughnut french toast bake or, hear us out, cheeseburgers. We know you’re probably thinking we’ve totally lost it, but we promise you that replacing your burger buns with glazed doughnuts will become THE new way you eat burgers at your house.

Baked Strawberry Doughnuts
If you’re looking for any and every reason to nab some fresh strawberries at your local grocery store, or if you’re growing your own and have a plethora, use some up with this baked doughnut recipe that calls for fresh strawberries. The frosting is *chef’s kiss*, but if you’re feeling a little crazy, we recommend whipping up a lemon cream cheese frosting to top these with; the flavor screams spring and summer. Not only are these doughnuts great for the fam bam, but if you’ve got a morning event coming up or need a last-minute gift for someone, like an extra special teacher or office pal, a dozen of these homemade (with love) doughnuts are sure to satisfy.

Raspberry Cheesecake Brioche Doughnuts
Here’s a doughnut recipe for all of the fancy people! (It’s us, we’re fancy people.) These doughnuts are a flavor explosion in every bite and they’re the perfect addition to any brunch you may be hosting or attending. Just because these doughnuts look like they came from an upscale bakery, the recipe doesn’t call for too much more than pantry staples and the raspberry cheesecake filling only requires four ingredients! The biggest challenge is not eating them all in one sitting after you’re done making them.

The Homer Simpson Doughnut
When we think of a classic doughnut, of course, we think of pink frosting and multi-colored sprinkles, a la Homer Simpson. These are easy-peasy to whip up, not straying too far from a classic glazed doughnut recipe, in fact, it’s all in the frosting and sprinkle combo! We think these doughnuts make the perfect birthday breakfast doughnut either with a candle right in the doughnut or the doughnut as cake decoration, and we LOVE to make some crazy milkshakes with these. There’s just something about pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles that make it all so aesthetically pleasing!
