We find ourselves checking the weather a lot and if the sun is shining, the wind isn’t too bad, and the temperature is, at best, not bad, then you can find us outside turning the heat up on the grill. We don’t know the science behind it, but everything tastes better on the grill. Now, we know visions of thick steaks, juicy burgers, perfectly charred asparagus, and portabellos are dancing in your head right now, but what about grilled fruit? No, we’re being serious. Grilled fruit is actually incredible and whether you love it or you don’t know what to think yet, we’ve got some recipes that we think will turn you into a believer. Let’s get started!
Movin’ to the Country, Gonna Eat A Lot of Peaches
We’ll start off safe with a recipe for grilled peaches. Oftentimes when we think of grilled foods, we think savory, which is probably why some are quick to turn up their nose at the idea of grilled fruit, but grilled doesn’t mean savory only. These peaches are grilled to perfection with a little butter, a little sugar, and a little cinnamon. See where we’re going with this? Eat them solo or with vanilla ice cream, caramel, and a crunchy candied nut topping. There is no wrong way to eat a grilled peach. Get the full recipe here!
Grunken, Drilled, Err, Drunken Grilled Pineapple Slices
Okay, despite the name, this dessert can be enjoyed by everyone since most of the alcohol cooks out. These pineapple slices are grilled and combined with a boozy, caramel sauce which turns once healthy fruit into a sinful dessert. Make sure to read the recipe first, because the pineapple does have to soak for a couple of hours, but after that, this dessert can be whipped up in about fifteen minutes. This is another dish best served with some ice cream and extra caramel drizzle. Get the full recipe here!
Taste the Rainbow
We’re going to set the scene: grilled fruit kabobs with a sweet and spicy glaze. Enticed? We’re getting a little more daring with each recipe if you haven’t noticed and this recipe doesn’t simply call for one fruit, but four fruits that will be charred to perfection and then brushed with a sweet and spicy glaze. These make for a unique side or dessert and just trust us, people will love them. Get the full recipe here!
This Recipe is One in a Melon
We’re sorry, but we had to. This recipe is, in our humble opinion, the more daring option because cantaloupe isn’t a fruit we would necessarily even think of when it comes to grilled goodness. (We typically just eat the whole melon, cold, in one sitting.) But topped with a squeeze of lime and a few honey drizzles? Chef’s kiss. Get the full recipe here!
