We don’t know about you, but living a happy, healthy life is like, way important to us. And while we’re all just doing our best, sometimes life gets a little overwhelming and we tend to put ourselves on the back burner. But here’s the thing: you gotta put you first. When you’re happy, when you’re healthy, when you’re living your best life, then you can really give it your all when it comes to helping those around you. And while we get the urge to try to change our lives in a day, this just isn’t possible. So today we’re coming at you with some health hacks that little by little will improve your mood, your health, your mental state, the works. The trick is consistency. Let’s get started!
Sleep. Seven. Hours.

We are so serious about this one. Sleep is so important to your overall health. We understand that sometimes it feels like certain things need doing before you can rest easy, but the thing is, they will still be there tomorrow. Prioritize your beautiful brain and body, and go get some shut-eye.
Add More Veggies to Your Diet
We don’t care how you do this, whether you snack on some raw veggies for a snack or start sauteeing them up to sneak into your dinner of the evening, but by incorporating more vegetables into your diet, you can actually decrease feelings associated with depression.
Talk Less
Just trust us on this one, you really don’t need to explain yourself as much as you think you do. When you find yourself going on and on, just stop. Walk away. Brush it off. Keep going.
Eat Some Chocolate

Yeah, no we’re serious. Chocolate is a mood-booster, so don’t feel guilty about consuming a small amount each day. And if you opt for dark chocolate your heart will thank you.
Unplug
We’re talking a whole digital detox. 24-hours. No phone, no computer, no nothing. A digital detox is almost like snapping your fingers and poof, your life is just ~better~. Studies have shown that a break from screens has been proven to improve people’s posture, reduce stress, help lessen insomnia, boost your self-esteem, stay focused, boost creativity, and so much more.
Smile
Yes, even if you have to fake it. If you find yourself in a stressful situation, just smile and keep smiling. Research has shown that those that can commit to a smile in times of trouble have a lower heart rate than those who don’t.
Food = Mood = Food

Consider your mood, then consider what you’ve eaten. For instance, if you’re feeling tired, sluggish, and bloated more days than you’re not, look into incorporating meals that are made mostly of fresh ingredients because this could just be your body screaming for some nutrients.
