Little Ways You Can Share Your Big Love of Reading

May 19, 2025 by Shelley Thompson

Admittedly, we’re really big fans of reading books. We could go on and on about how our ideal day consists of coffee, a cool, dark rainy day, and getting lost in the pages of a new thrill, but we’ll spare you. Today we’re discussing ways you can share your love of reading and maybe inspire someone else to crack open a book, or at least meet other bibliophiles! Let’s get started.

Getcha some book gear!

Not only will you look way cool wearing book-themed threads, but there are companies out there you can buy from that will donate a portion of the sale to literary programs and libraries. Out of Print, we’re lookin’ at you. (shop here!)

Take a friend to the bookstore!

Plan a fun day with a friend and stop by your local bookstore! What a great friend you would be to introduce them to the joy, dare we say high, of meandering through a bookstore with a cup of coffee in hand. What are the odds they WON’T find something? It’s like a Scholastic Book Fair for adults.

Start a BookTok or Bookstagram!

There can never be enough book recommenders out there, and what a fun creative outlet to get to stage photos of books you’ve read, or create various book-themed photo or video shoots. These platforms will allow you to talk and become acquainted with bibliophiles from all around the world.

Donate books!

Little Free Libraries, public libraries, and local thrift stores are all great places to donate your old books. Little Free Libraries are probably the coolest things ever because they’re 100% free; the idea is that you bring a book (or books) and you can take one (or several) too. People have gotten super creative with these boxes and their spaces too, so they make for a fun stop. Check out this map to see where your local Little Free Libraries are located!

Visit a literary spot!

Maybe you live close to an author’s birthplace or a location that inspired a book, either way, go check it out with friends and it may get everyone inspired to pay the book store a visit, or even attend your book club. Oh, you don’t have a book club? Well, in that case..

Start a book club!

Books? Snack? Wine? Your favorite people? Count us in. Starting a book club is easy, just pick a book you think people would enjoy, set a date to host the first meeting, have snacks and wine of course, then the next one is someone else’s turn. Book clubs are great excuses to prioritize reading and spending time with your best mates.
