Okay, Louisville, Kentucky has a lot to offer, there’s the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, the Muhammad Ali Center, and the Kentucky Science Center, but today we aren’t talking about any of that. Today, we’re talkin’ boutiques, upscale eateries, breweries, and more all in the East Market District of Louisville. What else do all of the places we’ll be talking about today have in common? They’re all woman-owned! Let’s get started.
First things first, here is the map of the walking tour you and your lady friends can enjoy! This map is brought to us from the shop Woman-Owned Wallet, which is where the tour begins (and they have ample free parking so we’re already off to a great start!) See the full map and description here!
Before we get started you need to know it was super hard to narrow down what businesses we would highlight, so just know you absolutely can’t go wrong with this tour, not even a little bit.
Let’s start with Woman-Owned Wallet! WOW is a feminist gift shop that features a ton of woman-owned brands, and while you can find a little something for every woman in your life, you can’t leave yourself out. You deserve it.
During your tour, you may find yourself at Please & Thank You, and if you love chocolate chip cookies and freshly brewed coffee, you’ll think you stumbled upon heaven. This is the perfect stop for a little pick-me-up if you’re starting to slow down and still have a whole walking tour to go.

If you fancy yourself a real do it yourselfer, you’ll for sure want to stop by The Craftery, it’s a craft bar, but not quite what you’re thinking. You can absolutely order a hand-crafted cocktail here, or even a craft beer, but you can also pop in for some jewelry making, woodworking, or concrete project. See what they did there?

Calling all of our vintage and thrifty queens, run, don’t walk to Sugar Town on your tour! Besties turned vintage shop owners and self-proclaimed fans of Nancy Sinatra, hence the name, have a funky little shop filled to the bring with cool threads, shoes, accessories, and decor.

While this certainly isn’t the last spot you can visit on your tour, because there are in fact thirty-three spots in all, it’s the last one we’ll dote on for today. Hi-Five Doughnuts isn’t your typical doughnut shop, not only do they have an over-the-top selection, but you can create your very own customized doughnuts as well. What’s really super awesome is that the owners started things off with a dream and a recipe; that’s right, there was no previous doughnut-making experience to be had. They have since perfected the art creating their very own signature glazes, as well as ‘brioche’-style dough.
