Call us crazy, but there is nothing quite like the serotonin boost spring cleaning then lighting a candle gives us. Health Benefits of Spring Cleaning
Spring cleaning gets you up and moving; from boxing up donations and getting them to a local charity, to scrubbing the walls, you’re moving a whole lot! At least more than you would on a cold, dreary winter day.
It’s good for your immune system. Think about it, mold, dust, and pet dander build up during the winter wreaking havoc on your respiratory system, but spring cleaning means wiping down all of these surfaces.
Spring cleaning is a great way to say “so long!” to seasonal depression. Well, kinda. It’s at least a great way to reduce stress and promote some positivity.

Since we already brought it up, clean your doormats. Pressure wash or simply hose off any outdoor mats, and make sure to vacuum indoor ones on both sides.
Wipe down all those walls, bestie. Walls are most definitely an area of your house that can get a little dingy without anyone noticing until they get wiped down, but trust us, you’ll probably never forget again.
Steam clean your microwave. You can do this easily by filling a large microwave-safe bowl with one cup of water, and a few tablespoons of vinegar; put this concoction in your microwave and let it heat until it creates steam on the window, then let it sit for about five minutes, remove the bowl, and wipe down the appliance.
Take a lemon to your cheeseboards to put some life back into them.
Deep-clean the fridge. We mean it too, remove all the bins, pop out all the drawers, and get every last corner before putting food back in.
Making that stainless steel shine. This is easy with a number of cleaners on the market that are made especially for stainless steel.
Throw your shower curtain in the washer on gentle and after hanging to dry, all you’ll have to do is spray it down with an all-purpose cleaner to keep it sparkling.
Ditch all of your expired makeup.
Make sure to dust all of your ceiling fixtures. (You’ll be both disgusted and satisfied.)
Replace those air conditioner filters! And hey, you’re good for months now.
Wipe down those trash cans! It’s kind of a no-brainer that this is an area that would be kind of icky, so make sure to grab a cleaner that’s guaranteed to kill germs so you can keep this area as clean as you can.
