How many times have you already thought, “I’m bored”, or “there’s nothing to do,” or “I’ve already caught up on my shows and eaten all of my snacks”? Well, same. But we’re here to pull you (and ourselves) out of this weird rut, and we’re ready to create a summer to remember. So we put together a summer bucket list, and we fully plan on creating a photo album after all is said and done so we never ever forget this summer. Let’s take a look!
Keep it Local

Check out what’s happening around your town and attend the events that interest you! Summertime is when all of the bands are playing outside, carnivals stop by, art walks happen, community theatres are performing, you name it, and the best part? Most of these community activities will be free or super affordable. And just a word of advice: never miss out on the opportunity to eat food truck food for dinner.
Read a Book
(image via: istock)
There is something really special about summer reading, and we really can’t quite put our finger on it. Maybe it was conditioning from the Book It program back in the day, but we just love opening our windows, letting the sunshine and summer breeze, and getting lost in the pages of a book we’ve been dying to read. So pick a day, and cozy up! This activity can also be enjoyed poolside or on the beach. Just sayin’.
Wander Around a Museum
(image via: istock)
Is there a museum in your town you’ve never been to? Maybe one in a neighboring area? Well, go! It’s hot outside, but the museum’s A.C. works great! We love to get a little dressed up, grab lunch somewhere local, then just spend hours learning about all kinds of new things from art to natural history.
Go Berry Picking
(image via: istock)
Or apple, or peach, pick your poison. But if you live near a patch or orchard that lets you pick your own fruit, get a group of pals together and get after it. The best part is figuring out what to do with the fruit once you’re home. For instance, did you pick strawberries? Jam. Peaches? Pie. Blackberries? Cobbler. Then you can share your goods with friends and family.
Check Out Your Local Farmer’s Market
(image via: istock)
Big or small, we love them all. Pick a Saturday to wake up early, grab a cup of coffee at your favorite local coffee shop, and check out the local farmer’s market. Here you’ll find locally grown produce, baked goods, plants, and art, and get the chance to support local farmers. The best part? Getting creative in the kitchen with all of your produce.
