Fight damp salt with grains of uncooked rice
If you like cooking, you’ve probably experienced the frustration of finding out that salt is stuck in the salt shaker when you want to add some of it to your food. Salt can pull humidity out of the air and absorb it, making it damp and clump up. There are many ways to prevent this from happening, and using rice is one of them.

Adding uncooked rice grains to your salt shaker will absorb the moisture that is ruining your salt. Once you’ve put the rice inside, you can either mix it into the salt or simply shake the container up a little bit. Some people decide to take the rice out after the salt dries out, but it doesn’t appear to impact the salt at all. This hack will keep your salt dry forever, so give it a try.
