Clean the kitchen chute
Sometimes, we throw food rests through the kitchen chute without realizing it. However, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t worry about cleaning it now and then. Leaving your kitchen sink without proper cleaning makes it smelly and prone to clogging. Plumbers don’t recommend pouring toxic drain cleaners to clean the chute because that could damage the pipes. Using sodium bicarbonate seems like the only option, then.
First, mix a cup of boiling water with a quarter of baking soda and pour it down the drain. Then, mix a cup of white vinegar and another quarter of sodium bicarbonate and pour it down the chute as well. Wait for half an hour and let some hot water run down the drain as a final rinse. With this trick, your kitchen sink will be as clean as ever.
