Wrap the crown of bananas with foil
Bananas are one of the healthiest and tastiest fruits we can buy, and they’re also one of the cheapest. They are so versatile we can use them in a variety of sweets and breakfast dishes. However, ethylene gas causes ripe bananas to turn brown easily.
To avoid this, wrap a piece of plastic or foil around the stem to delay the release of ethylene. It won’t speed up as quickly, and we just need to make sure we check on them every now and then to ensure they don’t get too ripe.
