Absorb the mess on the floor after you’ve dropped an egg
Okay. Last egg hack. You’ve learned how to peel a hard-boiled egg, and how to cook the perfect poached one. Now, this next tip doesn’t involve cooking, but it’s dedicated to you clumsy people out there. If you have butterfingers, you’ve probably dropped an egg or two in your life. While it makes for a funny blooper, it’s quite bothersome to clean.

To make matters worse, once you’ve accidentally dropped an egg, you start wiping it with a napkin or towel, which ends up spreading the mess even more around your kitchen floor. As it turns out, you can add salt to any spilled bits for a swift cleaning process. This ingredient will absorb the moisture from the egg yolk, and you’ll pretend nothing happened.
