There are a ton of lodging options just about anywhere you go; you’ve got your motels, your five-star hotels, and a ton of unique joints to rest your head after a day of travels thanks to Airbnb. Today we’re talking about a little dive motel in Nashville, TN that we are absolutely obsessed with. And we don’t think it will take you long to see why we can’t get enough of it. Let’s get started.
Nashville Tennessee, the capital of country music. It’s no wonder stars like Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and Hank Williams once walked the streets, performed the halls, and stayed in these hotels. But one hotel specifically feels like an actual time machine back to the days these legends were in their prime. (Well, Dolly is always in her prime, but you know what we’re getting at!) The Dive Motel was built in 1956 and used to be known as the Key Motel, after years of just sitting there, this once dilapidated motel got new life. Nestled on the Old Buffalo Trail, just five minutes from the bustle of Broadway sits a twenty-three-room motel and swim club where time has stopped and the only strict policy in place: good vibes only.
Designed by owner Leon Porter, The Dive Motel is a mixture of Classic Motel Americana meets Pantone-inspired Romantic Nostalgia. Think vintage, think 70s wallpaper, shag carpets, wood paneling, and soaking tubs. The Motel also notoriously collaborates with local artists so if you’re planning a trip, be sure to check out the calendar of events so you catch some live music poolside. We love kiddos as much as anyone, but The Dive Motel is where you go get away from it all, so sorry kids, this stay is only for guests 21+.
The Motel itself includes twenty-three rooms, each uniquely designed, and here is the best part, or rather parts, each room features a ‘Party Switch’ that spins a disco ball to the tunes of Dive Radio, and guests can choose from the following playlists: sex, drugs, rock’n’roll, or sleep. Now, excuse us while we photo dump because the pictures can tell you more than we ever could.
At The Dive Motel, you will simply have to pay The Dive Bar a visit for all of your hot food, cold drinks, and good times needs. The bar is open seven days a week from noon – 1 AM, and remember that strict good vibes only policy while you’re there.
