We’ve Got Your Labor Day Menu Right Here

January 12, 2025 by Shelley Thompson

Most of us grew up hearing several old adages about how fast time flies and how the next season would be here in no time, and as kids, we thought time couldn’t move any slower. Now we’re full-blown “adults” or whatever and we now know what everyone was talking about. With that being said, we can’t believe it’s already time to start planning a Labor Day weekend BBQ. This is typically viewed as the end-all for BBQ season so we like to go out with a bang and make all of our summertime favorites one last time. You know, before switching into soup mode. Let’s take a look at what we got.

Grilled Hotdogs with ALL the Fixin’s

Classic all-beef hotdogs, hotdog buns, and whatever you like to top ‘em off with be it pickles, onions, horseradish, chiles, coleslaw, or your basic catsup and mustard combo.

A Fancy Burger

Nothing too wild and crazy, of course, but a nice cheddar bacon burger or mushroom and swiss burger oughta do the trick. Just don’t forget the lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onions.

Garden Veggie Pasta Salad

Not only is this dish light, tangy, and delicious, but it’s a great way to use up some of those garden vegetables you may be needing to use up. This dish is pretty customizable, so feel free to substitute any veggies you have, don’t have, like, or don’t like. Get the full recipe here!

Grilled Corn on the Cob

Nothing says summer quite like corn on the cob, fresh from the grill, dripping with butter and whatever goodness you like on yours. We just require a little butter and salt and pepper, but you can’t go wrong here, no matter how fancy you get with your corn cobs.

Potato Salad

There are about a million ways to make potato salad and we’re willing to bet that your family makes it in their own special way. So while we like it with just oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and purple and green onions, you should make what your family is accustomed to.

Massive, Fresh Garden Salad

Chop up some fresh green lettuce, onions, cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms, and whatever else you had growing in your garden, and stir it all up to make the crispest, freshest green garden salad for all of your friends and family to enjoy.

Icebox Pie

Key lime, lemon meringue, banana cream, coconut cream, we could go on for days. We just know that on the last get-together of the summer, ya gotta have your favorite icebox dessert (or desserts) on hand.
