Painting half the balloon is a simple way of customizing decorations
There are endless ways to customize plain store-bought decorations that don’t require much work or supplies. One method is to paint over the top half of solid-color balloons to give them more of a color-blocked look. Choose matte pigments in contrasting shades or metallic or iridescent formulas, depending on your preferred style.
It’s best to paint the balloons after they’ve been inflated to avoid flaking as they’re blown up. The ones in the photo were left with raw edges to give them a more whimsical look. Feel free to try to get crisp edges. Mix the colors up in whatever way is preferable.
