Feel Like Staying In? Here Are Our Favorite At-Home Date Night Ideas

January 7, 2025 by Shelley Thompson

We don’t know about you but we love staying home. Even when it comes to date nights, some of the best ones happen in the comfort of our own homes. But a date night-in doesn’t have to mean just takeout and Netflix (though no shade because we love those nights) so if you’re looking for a more creative way to enjoy being an introvert with your human, we’ve created a list of a few of our favorite at-home date nights.

A Tasting Party

This is, hands down, one of our favorite at-home dates. All you do is choose something you both like to eat and/or drink and have a variety of said food or beverage. We highly recommend getting creative with this and if you aren’t sure where to start, we can certainly help there. A few of our favorite themes:

  • Meat and cheese boards
  • Whiskey
  • Chocolate
  • Dips
  • Soups
  • Wine
  • Pastries

Recreate Your Favorite Childhood Meals

This can easily be turned into two date nights, but the whole idea here is to recreate your favorite childhood meal but with your refined adult palette. Now there are different ways you could go about this, you could make your own favorite childhood meal for your partner, or you could make theirs, and they in turn, make yours. Either way, it makes for a fun date night at home and opens the door for a lot of nostalgic conversation.

Cocktails and DIY Projects

Few things pair as nicley as cocktails and making art, and why wouldn’t you want to do this at your own home where you get to craft the cocktails and you get to pick the art project?

Bookshop Vibes

Maybe we’re just huge nerds, but we love to visit a bookshop with a hot cup of coffee in hand with our partner and spend time together quietly sipping and reading, so why not recreate this night at home? If you’re readers then you probably have books at home that you’ve been meaning to read, and if you’re all caught up then head to your local library, each of you checks out a stack, then get home to brew some coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and start perusing together. Just don’t forget a snack and some comfy blankets for snuggling up with.

Recreate Your Favorite Date Night At Home

Think of the best date you ever went on and attempt to recreate as much of it as you can. Depending on the original date that you choose this could be executed perfectly or a night full of laughs at your attempt. Either way, it’s a win in our books.
