Okay, okay, we can hear you rolling your eyes, but these DIY flower pots are nothing like the ones you’ve finger painted in years past, these take time, and effort and they look incredible once they’re all done. Plus, it’s a great way to spend some time outdoors both while you’re painting your pots, then while you’re planting in them. Let’s get started!
Dalmatian Print

We are obsessed with dalmatian print, not like in a Cruella DeVille way, but luckily it’s also an east print to draw and paint. Our best advice is to paint your pot white first, then sketch the dalmatian spots on for you to fill in later with a little brush. There is so much to love about this simple design, it’s black and white so requires minimum supplies, it’s eye-catching, and it looks incredible with greenery or a pop of color flower planted in it.

If there’s one thing we know for certain, it’s that if it has a fruit print on it, we need it. And when it comes to flower pots, we can make them! Or at least try to. Nab a couple of your most favorite shades of pink paint, and the art supply that will tie it all together: a black Sharpie or black brush pen. If you love the strawberry pot, then we say try your hand at a lemon, peach, and orange pot while you’re at it!
Au Naturel

We can always find inspiration in nature, and we love the look of these flower pots that are not only inspired by natural colors but natural textiles and prints as well. These flower pots may look tedious to make, but we promise they’re easy. We recommend cutting out shapes to have on hand, start with the biggest shape, trace it, paint it, have a cocktail while it dries, then come in with the next shape and follow the same process until you’re all done!

Thre are next to no words for how incredible your flower pots will turn out if you use this photo as an inspiration. We adore the amount of color and texture you can easily add, taking those boring terracotta pots to a whole new level. You’ll start by painting your pot whatever color you like, then you’ll mold the clay pieces you want to attach to your pots, before you let your pieces dry you’ll choose where you want them on your pot and you’ll bend them ever so slightly so once they’re dry they’ll easily fit on your pot, then let them dry, and paint them, then once everything is dry, you’ll attach your clay pieces.
