Give your lampshade a makeover with this colorful stitching
You must know somebody who cross-stitches during their free time. This hobby involves sewing X-shaped stitches in a tiled pattern to form a picture and is one of the easiest forms of hand embroidery to learn. Well, the next creative makeover is very similar to that activity. Instead of designing a flower in a hoop, you could spend your afternoon decorating an old lampshade.

This person used tapestry wool, as it’s thicker and brighter than your average floss. As you can see in the above picture, they stitched different geometric shapes using a variety of bright colors. If you’re not feeling too creative, feel free to copy their design. It’s impressive how much difference a few hours of embroidery can make!
