Mosquitoes are not just annoying; they can also be dangerous, especially the ones that carry deadly diseases such as dengue, the Zika virus, and malaria. So, it is crucial to be well protected against their bites when out and about in nature.
If ever exploring a forest or lake area without any insect repellent, it might be possible to use the local vegetation to keep these bugs away. Citronella plants are the most obvious example, but lavender, wild geranium, and rosemary also help keep mosquitoes away.
