Build a makeshift compass with some wire and a leaf
When traveling through the woods, the tall trees might block out the sunlight and make it harder to tell which direction is the right one. In those moments, a compass could spell the difference between getting lost and reaching your destination safely.
If your survival kit doesn’t include a compass, it’s possible to make one by arranging a needle or a piece of wire on a leaf and floating it on a puddle or in a cup. The metal will always point north. Stick close to a water source to better guide yourself.
