Yucca plants can be cut to make a thread
Many nomadic cultures roamed large expanses of grassy plains and used the vegetation they found to weave clothes for themselves. This principle still stands today; depending on where your camping or hiking trip leads, it’s possible to find natural fibers with which to make some thread.
In parts of North America, the Yucca plant grows. It is a plant with big fat leaves and barbed points that can be cut down to form a thread. These threads can be braided to make a very sturdy rope that will undoubtedly be useful in a survival setting.
