Tie a tarp down without using grommets
Tarps are a basic camping supply and can be used as shelter from the sun or the rain. However, strong winds or storms can rip tarps out from the corners with such force that the grommets can come loose. Then, it’s goodbye shelter.
There is an alternative way of tying the tarp down, and it is called a sheet bend. Bunch up the tarp and bend it back on itself. Then, pass some rope through the hole and wrap it around the outer curve. Finish by passing the string again beneath the loop.
