A plastic bottle is all that’s needed to fashion a fish trap
A less labor-intensive way to fish is to set a trap and wait for it to get filled. This will not result in very substantial specimens but it can be a way to earn a few minnows to cook over a fire. A plastic bottle can be used to create a rudimentary trap.
Cut the top of the bottle off just where it begins to widen to full thickness. Discard the cap and insert the smaller piece with the neck upside down into the larger one, ensuring they fit together snugly. Then, punch a hole through both parts and tie a piece of string through.
