Despite their proximity to both the back and front-facing cameras, the tiny holes have nothing to do with your images. It is, in fact, a little microphone. Practically, every smartphone has three microphones: one on the phone’s bottom edge, one under the speaker grill, and one next to the camera lens. However, they are there to increase the quality of apps like FaceTime.
