Avoid flooding wooden floors when cleaning them
Wood and water definitely do not get along, and that is no mystery. If your hardwood floors ever get water damage, there will be no solution left but to change the boards. That is why they should not make contact with moisture if possible. However, that does not mean you should stop cleaning them.
It simply means that you need to be careful not to flood the wood whenever you clean it. You can do this by wringing the mop before you pass it along the floorboards. You can also use cleaning products that are formulated specifically for hardwood floors and that do not require to be diluted in water. Still, a little moisture will not ruin them.
